1944 dated D-Day era folding wire cutters-Long handles

WW2 1944 dated D-Day era folding wire cutters-Long handles.Look similar to more usual items but appear to be heavier duty with longer hanfdlesFolded approx 27cm long with hook catch at end.When opened approx 39cm long Stamped 256 1944 /|\.Still coated in gun oil.A couple of small spots of surface rust..May be unissued?

Please note I have a wire cutter pouch also offered but they are for standard cutters -these are too large for pouch.
