Item specifics - Guitars
Type: Acoustic GuitarBrand: Gibson
Sub-Type: FLAT TOPSize: --
No. of Strings: --Right-/ Left-Handed: --
Condition: Used

Like any war-era Gibson, this guitar has a playability and tone that is simply "the best."  Its five piece neck has the famous baseball style neck necessistated by the lack of materrials during thr war. The result: a guitar with a feather weight body and heavyweight tone that represents the standards for all others to follow. (I find these old Gibson necks more comfortable than the 60s' era necks due to the fact the wider neck forces the span of the player's hands to expand and reach the frets more easily.) Combined with the 24 3/4 inch scale fretboard and the 1 3/4in. width you have a guitar that will allow the typical player to simply play with more expertise. It's a subtle combination that adds up to guitar heaven. When people says they love a certain guitar it is often this combination that equals those accolades.

The only items on the guitar that are not original are the pins and the saddle. The neck has never been re-set and the playability is flawless. There are absolutely no buzzing or bowing issues to be addresssed. (Quite rare for these guitars.) The tuners are original and the pickguard has not been replaced. The mid-range on this guitar is simply incredible. When you pick it up and play you instantly hear the essence of so many golden era country recordings. Or as Johhny Cash put it:  "The blood, the guts and the beer."  Case is included.

The sides and the top are mahogany and a rosewood finger board. (not like typical new rosewood but real Brazilain rosewood that is hard as nails yet soft as moss on the fingers).  The finish is original with much vintage-era checking. (this does not affect the tone and some say it is the key to the magic of the old Gibson sound.)

The banner reads "ONLY A GIBSON IS GOOD ENOUGH".  Maybe this is one ad slogan that reflects the truth.  And, remember they are not making any more of these, no matter what the Gibson Custom Shop tells you.  This is the real deal at a cheaper price for the collector, the investor or the player so go on make an offer you won't regret.

100 % ORIGINAL & RARE.
