Rare 1942 Child’s Wolverine Delft 3-pc Toy Washing Machine (pmtzh)
Wolverine Supply & Mfg. Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was established in 1903 by Benjamin F. Bain as tool and die operation. Wolverine agreed to tool a sand toy for a company that failed and Wolverine was left with tooling for sand toys. The company then developed an impressive line of Sandy Andy toys and a large line of housekeeping toys such as stoves, sinks, refrigerators, washing machines, cleaning sets, tea sets, salad sets and more.
This is a rare 3-pc set of Wolverine Delft Toy Washing Machine to include the lid and wringer. It measures 10.5 inches high, 11 inches wide with Wringer attached and 9 inches in diameter.
The set is in great working condition with minimal wear such as scratches, some surface rust and loss of paint as shown in photos. It is marked: Wolverine, within the diamond symbol, Made in USA, Patent 2001822. This set because of its rarity is worth about $ 200.00.
