Provenance Britannica World Atlas
Published Chicago, London, Toronto:  Encyclopaedia Britannica, Inc.  1942-45. All these maps are originals.
Geographical Editor G. Donald Hudson
Size / Format Map: 35.5 cm x 25.5 cm (14" x 10"). Page: 41 cm, x 30 cm (16.5" X 12"). The maps are printed on both sides of each page. The pages are thick enough to prevent any showing through of maps on the opposite side of the page.
Condition Very good. The maps are bright and crisp. There is very slight and even age toning in the margins. The colors are BRIGHT and VIBRANT in a way not seen before or since in respectable atlases! 
Remarks

This war-time edition of the atlas shows the world as it was in 1938 and does not take into account any major changes that occurred to boundaries as a result of World War II. From the ones that were published early in 1945, the American edition included a coupon to be mailed away to receive updates after the war.

The almost complete ignorance of physical geography and topography in favor of brightly colored political divisions sets this atlas apart from it's compatriots foreign cousins. The colors are strongly reminiscent of mid-century school-room maps.
