COMPLETE SET "OLYMPIA 1936" (VOL. I)/VERY GOOD CONDITION/+ORIGINAL WRAPPERS 

175 German photos (also cigarette/tobacco cards)--a complete set--of the 1936 Olympic Winter Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Original wrappers included (all in good condition). The photos/cards were supposed to be pasted (but never were) into the cigarette album book entitled "Olympia 1936" (Vol. I). This particular set served three purposes: a) documenting the winter olympics b) looking back to previous olympic games (all the way back to 1896) c) delivering a preview of the upcoming summer olympic games in Berlin, Germany. Now you know why some of the photos show sports that aren't considered winter sports. The photos/cards are in very good condition. A few of the cards are in color. Whereas 150 cards measure 3 x 4 3/4 inches, 25 of them measure 6 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches; and they look sharper than my pictures suggest. To provide a context, I'm showing you what the cards look like in the album, which is not part of this auction, though I'm also listing the (empty) album.
