The memoirs of a famous Swiss mountain guide Christian Klucker 1853–1928 who made many first ascents in the Alps, particularly in the Bernina Range the Bregaglia and the Pennine Alps. In 1890 he made several difficult new climbs with Norman-Neruda and in 1893 participated in the first traverse of the Peuterey Arete on Mont Blanc. This work includes an account of his time in the Canadian Rockies with Whymper.

342 Pages in total plus 17 photographic illustrations and one sketch map.

Inscription on front endpaper dated 1932.

 Original publishers black cloth binding in good condition with some colour fading to spine, slight foxing to a few pages, all complete.
