From a mercifully pet- and smoke-free home, we offer our beloved old three-piece suite comprising two armchairs and a two-seater settee/sofa with fully functional drop end.
All original covering in autumnal floral/abstract moquette.
Original swivel castors on all feet, though recommend using bakelite cups for floor protection (and authenticity!).
As shown, the suite was made by Buoyant Upolstery Co. Ltd of Sandiacre, Nottingham; this range was the "Melton". The charming image of "the Lounger" is from the cover of their 1920s trade cataloque (not included) "The Compleat Lounger, or the Art of Taking it Easy" - now you too can still enjoy such luxury! This firm supplied many chairs for the Queen Mary and happily the firm is still making quality furniture.
- The suite is worn and used as might be expected with 70-odd years. One armchair has noticeably greater fading to the left side from light, and on the right are tears as shown. The only other tear is on the rear of the settee, again shown. The suite has been kept clean by vacuuming. We would describe the suite as most comfortable, the settee having had the most wear, while both armchairs have retained firmer seats and are, indeed, Buoyant!
We have preferred to enjoy the albeit worn original covering to replacement, although the suite could be re-upholstered if so desired.
The dimensions are:
Settee width 57" (4' 9"); Chair width 35" (2' 11"); Height 31" (2' 7"); Depth 31"
The suite is sold for collection only, whether by the buyer or courier. We can provide any necessary assistance to lift and move the suite from house to vehicle.
Payment is to be made by Paypal only.
Please feel free to ask any questions about the items shown.
This is a comfy, useable, everyday suite for those who appreciate the look, quality and feel of a past age!
