You are bidding on a 1930s PRINT OF WILLIAM HOGARTH'S 'THE GRAHAM CHILDREN'.
The Graham Children, originally an oil on canvas by William Hogarth in 1742,
was his most ambitious portrait of children.
Mounted behind glass and framed in a 1930s Bakelite or very hard plastic black and gilt Victorian-style frame.
Printed by E, S & A Robinson Ltd, Bristol.
Measurements:
23 ¾” x 22 ½” including frame.
Frame is 1 ½” wide.
The picture within the mount measures 12 ½” x 11” approx.
Condition:
There are a couple of knocks on the frame on both bottom corners, which do not detract, are commensurate and to be expected
of a 70 year old frame, but the print is still colourful, with no fading.
The winning bidder may consider it needs a clean as there is a bit of dirt here and there behind the glass,
but I personally would leave it as it is.
It is ready to hang, although the winning bidder may wish to replace the old string with wire.
There may appear to be shadowing or marks on the picture, but these are merely reflections of background images from the glass.
This framed print is extremely heavy and so will have to be collected.
This print has been in my possession for several years, but I no longer have the space for it.
A delightful 1930s framed print in very good overall condition.
