A scarce work illustrated with 5 etchings by "Viset" the pseudonym of Luc Lafnet Belgian and illustrator.
 Louis Percau, a great expert on the books by De Sade suggests in the bibliographical foreword of this work that the original book was most probably written about 1788 but it certainly formed the middle part (about half the total book) which was published as, Aline Et Valcour ou Le Roman Philosophique, by De Sade which was first published in Paris in 1793.
218 Pages in total plus 5 full page etchings.

CONDITION
Original publishers paper cover binding with original glassine wrapper, slight foxing to cover and margins of plates, pages are clean, glassine wrapper has tears and tape repairs, all complete.
Size is 9¾ by 6½ inches.
