1930-1945 - WATCOMBE POTTERY, TORQUAY  TAN & BROWN TEAPOT

This unusually plain teapot stands 5” tall and measures 9½” from spout to handle. 

It has the black rubber stamp “Watcombe Torquay, England” on the base and the number “1456” is incised. 

It’s not very often you come across a Watcombe Pottery teapot without any decoration, so I think this one is a little unusual.  It has a high glazed tan coloured body and lid, with dark brown handle, spout and trim. 

The spout has three chips, one inside the spout and the other two outside.  There is all over underglaze crazing which is normal with this kind of pottery. 

Apart from the damage to the spout, this teapot has no cracks or restoration and is offered in good condition.
