Depth: 5.3cm Red cloth boards. Ornate decorated title on spine Illustrator: Alfred Bestell. 24 Full Page b/w drawings. Illustration on front and back papers of children dressed as: a joker, dutch girl, ordinary boy, hansel, golliwog, queen, cuckoo, knight. All of them are sitting on a tree branch. An elf is above them. They are looking across water. A castle is in the distance. On the bank, in a hollow of a tree opposite them is a fairy, on a stage. At the back of the tree, marked 'Stage Door' a clockwork door man appears to be turning away a rabbit that has come with flowers. Enid Blyton apart from writing children's stories, produced a plethora of teaching material for schools, particularly with regards to nature and literature. The focus of this book was a teaching support material for plays and music. There are 12 musical plays for children aged 8 - 15. It contains, the plays, music and pictures for children to follow and aid their imagination. 240 Numbered Pages Condition: Boards discoloured and worn. Foxing to opening pages. Foxing on some further pages, outer and bottom edges. Pages collectively on outer edge are discoloured. Two pages, near the end of the book, the pages have not been cut exactly right during initial binding. Two corners peak above the rest of the book and the excess is creased. Binding good.
