A Pretty & Stunning Solid Silver George V Slim Line Coffee Pot
The Pot is designed in Classic mid Victorian with small rimmed base running to a wider bowel .
The pretty small lid has a ebony type finial and the spout is typical closed spout with small end.
The handle is the black S-Shaped cut made in ebony type finish.
An elegant beautiful piece with no personal inscriptions
Clearly this Coffee pot has not been used in anger as the inside is clean like new.
The workmanship is fine quality and was made by the illustrious John Round & Sons Ltd. Look at the photos and enlarge.
There is very little ware hence the markings are reasonably proud. see photos
The pot is hallmarked Lion Passant ; Crown for Sheffield ; and "h" for 1925.
The Silversmith is marked "J.R" for the highly celebrated John Round & Sons Ltd with Joseph Ridge who worked from 1895 to 1935 from their workshop at Tudor Works in Sheffield.
The base is also marked "1344" I guess for the model number
The condition is superb for the age with no dings or repairs and all designs in fine fettle. Look at the photos .
The lid bracket is fine and works well.
The total weight is an amazing 443 grams or 15.63 oz
The dimensions are diameter 120 mm;width handle to spout 180mm and height 240 mm.
In all, a beautiful and elegant Coffee pot almost unused and of superb high quality , good manufacturer which would enhance any collection or just put on show.
