This is a most interesting and informative topographical  book, being the Ward Lock Guide for Bournemouth, New Forest, Christchurch, Winchester, Wimborne, Isle of Wight and surrounding areas.

The 176 pages of the book are packed with detailed information on this area, and contents include, ie;  Streets; Railway Arrangements;  Walks; Historical information;  Hotels and Tariffs; Sport; Climate;  Tramways; The Pier;  The Winter Gardens; + so much more.

Other Areas covered include many other places in the district + villages, incl;  Poole and Parkstone; Barton On Sea;  Beaulieu; Romsey; Salisbury;  Swanage; Corfe Castle;  + many more.

The section on the New Forest also gives the History, Wild-Life, Snakes, Ponies, etc.

There are also several pull-out maps and plans, incl. Plan of Bournemouth; Bournemouth and the New Forest; Meyrick Park Golf Links; Queens Park Golf Links; Swanage & District; The Isle of Wight; + Ground Plan of Winchester Cathedral.

Throughout there are also a number of black and white photographic plates of places of interest, ie; Bournemouth Pier;  est Undercliff Drive;  Poole Quay with Sailing Ships;  Boscombe; Swanage Bay; etc. The majority of these pictures were taken during the early 1900s.

At the beginning and back of the book, there are additional pages of advertisements for business, hotels, etc both in the area and around Great Britain.

The stiff-covered book is  in  good condition for its age, with just some scuffing on the edges of  the covers. Internally, there are no loose pages, tears or scribbles. There is a little faint tanning  on the extreme edges of the pages through age.
