A Pretty & Stunning High Quality Flowing George V Solid Silver 3 piece Tea Set.
The matched design is beautiful vertical curved stripped vertical patterns to a curved waved bowel.
The Tea pot top is curved fluted patterns with Ebony ( I think) handle and finial.The hindge & bracket works well.The flowing lines look wonder full. See the photos.
The huge sugar bowel is matched design with wonderful S- shaped handles and fluted rim with same flowing lines.
The Milk jug also matched has fluted rim with short mouth and S-Shaped handle with waved edges and bowel.
A superbly elegant design with no inscriptions and classic of this high Quality Tea Set made during the pre- war years
Clearly these pieces have not been used in anger.
The workmanship is stunning and was made by the illustrious Robert Fead Mosely . Look at the photos and enlarge.
There is very little ware hence the markings are proud on all pieces.
The matched hallmarks Lion Passant ; Crown from Sheffield; and "Y" for 1916.
Each piece is also marked on the base 2477 and a flower which I believe shows the actual model & maker.
The Silversmith is marked "RFM" for the highly celebrated Robert Fead & Mosely & Co. who worked only from 1910 to 1931.
The condition is prestine for the age with no dings or repairs. Almost unused condition. Look at the photos .
It is very rare to find such a set in such good condition.
The total weight for the set is an amazing 1011 grams or 35.66 oz
Individual weights are teapot 577g; sugar bowel 254g and milk jug 160g
The dimensions are Tea pot width 130mm,length 300mm with handle & spout;height 150mm
Sugar bowel is Length with handles 220mm;width 120mm and height 100mm
Milk Jug is length from handle to spout 160mm; width 80mm and height 95mm
In all, a stunning , fine condition tea set which would enhance any collection or just put on show.
