Sir William Robertson Nicoll 1851-1923 Scottish preacher, free Church of Scotland nonconformist, journalist, editor, divine, and man of letters, and founder of the British weekly and the Bookman magazines.

This work is a collection of articles which he wrote to the British weekly on subjects relating to publishing, biography, and literature.

The front endpaper has an inscription: with the author's kind regards. 30 Oct 1920, with an ink stamp L. Gwillim Davies, M.D. Histon, Cambs, and two tipped in typed letters on British Weekly headed paper both dated October 1920 and both signed by the author. There are 3 newspaper cuttings relating to the subjects tipped in this work, causing browning to the opposite pages and a postcard of Edinburgh laid down on fixed front endpaper.

Original publishers cloth binding with slight wear and slightly stained.
