By John Richard Macgrath, Provost

DETAILS

This is the first edition with blue cloth spine and grey cloth boards.  College crest in gilt to front board.

Facsimiles of the 14th Century Queens college Liturgical Calender with obituaries of the founders and factors of the college, with copious notes.  Includes extra latin title page in black, red, green and blue, as is the facsimile of the original manuscript.  A handsome production on hand-made paper.

The Kalendar which is reproduced here is among the oldest of the possessions of the College.  It is mentioned in the Statutes which the founder sealed on the tenth of Febrary 1340-1.

CONDITION

The binding is tight and firm and both covers are attached.   The inner hinges are strained but holding.  There is some mild wear to the extremities including some bumping to the corners and top and tail of the spine.  The spine and edges are rubbed.  Internally the book is generally clean and bright apart from some occasional spots and the odd handling mark.  The pages have rough cut edges.
