Beautiful 1910 Holton New Proportion Cornet in silver with a gold-wash bell. (serial number 10326) Chicago model. The horn is in very nice condition. There are some minor dings on the bow...(see photos 7 & 11) The valves have some wear but are free of leaks. I do notice a bit of resistance in the lower register. I'm not sure if there is a minor leak somewhere or if it is just the nature of the horn. No play in the valves and ALL SLIDES move. The tuning slide stop rod is missing and there is a tiny nick in the very end of the 3rd slide tubing. (photo 4) Waterkeys are in good working order. The corks are pretty good so I left them alone. The bell has one very minor crease. (photo 6 & 10) I flushed, snaked and polished the horn. It plays well with a dark sound, typical of the shepherd's crook models. I am including a very nice Olds early Fullerton case, and a Blessing 7C mouthpiece. PayPal only please. All sales final. International buyers must pay ALL customs fees. Please feel free to e-mail with questions. Thanks! -Paul (theharpandtrumpet) |
