This map is based upon original Ordnance Survey 'Old Series' maps which were first published in the mid 1800s. They have all been carefully scanned, digitally re-projected and enlarged to cover the same area of the corresponding modern OS Landranger® and use the same sheet number and grid references, so enabling the past and the present to be compared with ease and accuracy.
