Hocking. This is a 1909 reprint of one of Hocking's novels of Cornish rural life. The story of an educated young man forced to leave Cambridge University after his patron dies who returns to his birthplace to work on the same farm as his father once ran and also tries to succeed in his ambition to be a writer. A solid binding with slight wear, browning to endpapers, slight foxing to a few pages, all complete. Sunday School Prize bookplate on front endpaper dated 1914.
