1900's LAVISH CANTON SILK FRINGED EMBROIDERED SHAWL WITH FLOWERS
This Canton or spanish shawl is a wearable work of art and a lovely heavy silk shawl with tight hand embroidery silk floss on a black silk ground with knotted macrame fringe on four sides. The piece is well preserved and worthy of collecting , displaying or wearing. Dates from the turn of the century to the 1920's when these shawls were in great favor with the women of the period. In excellent condition with no holes, stains or repairs. Embroidery is tight and intact thruout, a wonderful example to add to a collection or start one, a real beauty!! Measures an enormous 64" x 63" not including it's 21" fringe. Many people call these "piano shawls", but they were actually made to be worn. Shawls of this size and condition are hard to find. Don't let this one get away. I have listed other shawls in my EBAY STORE.
