A charming all original late 18thC (circ 1790) Bilston and Battersea enamel patchbox.
The mooto on the lid of the box reads "Alas I Die if You Deny" and depicts a young gentleman in 18thC dress.
There is some damage to the enamel as can be seen in the pictures and the hinge needs a repair, however I think this really does not detract from this charming and very old peice of history.
Measures 4cm diameter.
