A Super Country Mule Chest

18th Century & Later

 

 

Description:

A super country piece oozing charm and character. This chest is actually constructed from pine and has been left in its original dark shellac finish. As it’s such a nice quirky piece, we decided to leave it unrestored but have given it several fresh coats of polish, so it now looks absolutely great.

Originally an early 18th century chest on stile feet, the drawers were added later (but many years ago!) there are plenty of imperfections, all of which now add to its history and charm. Don’t be put off by my ‘picky’ description; this is a wonderfully charming piece of early country furniture or excellent size and proportion.

 

Dimensions: All are maximum sizes.

43 wide (109cm) x 19” deep (48cm) x 28.5” high (72.5cm)
