Pen India ink drawing on Nautical Chart actually used for navigation by a Cruise Ship. I am in the process of illustrating several Charts in the 8x10 format or bigger. Most of the Charts are from the British Admiralty Catalog, this one is from NOAA. This chart has been canceled and it is not suitable for navigation.

This portion of a NOAA Alaska chart is a very good location for this large steam engine fishing boats, until 1946 when the first oil burners and diesel engines were introduced steam was the main propulsion for this large vessels

Paolo Nonnis' Biography
Artist and musician Paolo Nonnis was born in 1950 in Sardinia, Italy,
and graduated from the Cagliari Liceo Artistico in 1969. After a few years of
teaching Art History and Design at Junior and High School levels, Nonnis
dedicated his time to music. After moving to Los Angeles
from Italy,
he put together a Big Band whose recordings were and are very well received by
Critics and Audiences. (“Step on the gas” and “Just in time,” USA Records)
Nonnis’ career as musician includes playing Drums for the
Dick Shearer- Stan Kenton Orchestra and leading the Buddy Rich Big Band from
1988 to 1989.
In 1994 Nonnis started a long relationship with the Cruising
Industry. It is during this time working at sea as Music Director that he returned
to his roots and started to paint and draw during his spare time experimenting
with techniques such as Scrimshaw and North American Native Art subjects.
Nonnis lives now in BC Canada with his wife and works as a
full time Artist.
