Presented is the original 1898 Edition of LESSONS IN HYPNOTISM by Leslie J. Meacham.  This book wonderfully covers hypnotism in great detail beginning with general theory, how to test hypnotism & hypothesis, therapeutics, and the dangers of hypnotism.  The general theory section of the book contains great illustrations showing the neural patterns of the brain Based Upon The Neuron Motility Hypothesis concerning hypnotism.  Other contents include Insomnia & Sleep depravation, Telepathy, Breaking Habits, Sex, Masturbation, Sexual Impotency, Abortion Rape & Murder concerning Hypnotism. 

 

First part of the book is text with a few line drawings, and at the back is a section of Explanatory Plates Showing Relative Positions of Operator and Subject in Producing and Testing Hypnosis for Hypnotism, from photographs by Dr. Edwin P. Adams.  A very rare look into the occult subject of Hypnotism! 

 

Overall GOOD CONDITION: Tight binding, Solid Hinges (minor cracking to rear hinge), mostly clean pages – a few spots, bumped corners.
