This is the first and only edition of the account of the life of Tavistock born Harry Terrell 1807-1871 a farmer and sportsman who worked his small farm at Burrator, a parish in Devon and spent most of his time on Dartmoor either on his pony with his gun, setters, and terrier, or on his hunter. An eccentric man who hunted anything that could be hunted, his remaining time was spent in conversation, speaking in his broad Devonshire dialect.
This work written by his friend also includes accounts of the people that Terrell knew and gives an insight into the social life and customs of Devonshire folk in the mid 19th century.
