Dorothy Tennant 1855-1926 was a Victorian illustrator and genre painter who married Sir Henry Morton-Stanley the African explorer and author and became known as Lady Stanley.
This is a collection of drawings, many of which depict the ragamuffins of London and their families, sketches made by her over a number of years, charming but unsentimental, a view of London poor and working class.

40 Illustrations on 20 pages plus a frontispiece portrait of Lady Stanley and an 8 page introduction written by her.

Condition
A solid binding with slight wear and a few wrinkles to cloth, pages are clean, all complete.
Size is 9¾ by 7½ inches
