This large working antique pre-dates powered flight.Patented in 1887.the Samson Padlock in the steel version,is hard to find not all rusted up and keyless. This lock jumps open when the genuine working eight lever double bitted barrel key is turned. There are still a few spots on this piece where the plating is not long gone, and a few spots of faded red paint .This 3 1/2 inch tall padlock is used but not beat up so all in all,the condition is very good.Corbin made this lock with Samson across the whole lock face to scream out it's strength. The eight lever version had steel or brass available and was more expensive than the smaller 6 lever models. This is a genuine antique and not a reproduction fake.
