Aiken celebrates fiftieth polo year.
In a colorful ceremony starting with a parade of old carriages and conveyances, with occupants dressed in costumes reminscent of 1822, and ending with a modern polo match, the resort of Aiken, S.C., celebrated its fiftieth anniversary of the playing of polo on April 2nd. Above is Mrs. Averill Clark of New York, wearing a striking costume of 1882.
