Ann and Jane Taylor were the first well-known and widely read early 19th century English children's poets.In addition to their poetry, they published essays, short stories, reviews, an autobiography, and a novel. Jane wrote the words for the song Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star in 1806 at age 23, The poem is now known worldwide, but its authorship is generally forgotten.
This is a late 19th century edition of 2 of their collections of poems, 139 pages containing 105 poems, with a colour frontispiece plate and a 4 page publishers list of children's books in rear.

Original publishers decorative cloth binding, very clean and bright, a good solid binding, slight foxing to a few pages, all complete.
