Henry Richards Luard 1825-1891 was a British medieval historian and antiquary. He was a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge and of King's College, London and was Registrary of the University of Cambridge, and worked on cataloguing the manuscripts in the University Library.He was also in holy orders, and served as Vicar of Great St Mary's Church, Cambridge from 1860 to 1867. In this scholarly work the author gives some account of the relations between
the Church of England and the Court of Rome during the first twenty years of the
