Henry Richards Luard 1825-1891 was a British medieval historian and antiquary. He was a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge and of King's College, London and was Registrary of the University of Cambridge, and worked on cataloguing the manuscripts in the University Library.He was also in holy orders, and served as Vicar of Great St Mary's Church, Cambridge  from 1860 to 1867.

In this scholarly work the author gives some account of the relations between the Church of England and the Court of Rome during the first twenty years of the reign of Henry III and the Papal influence of the period.

Early 20th century binding with leather spine and corners, marbled boards, spine with raised bands and gilt lettered title, marbled endpapers a good clean solid binding, page are clean with some creases to edges.
This slim work has 66 blank pages bound in rear to aid the bookbinder in his work
Size is 9 by 5¾ inches
