This wonderful wire ware catalog was issued in 1875 by E.T.Barnum, an iron fabricator offering a wide range of decorative objects in wire ware and cast iron. This catalog is a fine example of the sort of ornamental garden and porch objects so popular in the mid-Victorian age.
By the turn of the century, Barnum offered little wire ware. but instead a vast array of cast and wrought iron building components. Later catalogs, which we will offer this year, include items such as decorative wrought and cast iron stair railings, frames for entrance canopies, door and window grilles and screens, and fencing, The firm also specialized later in the modular jail cells used by smaller towns and villages.

We have digitally reproduced and restored our original catalog at a high resolution. The pages are printed on a heavy gloss paper reminiscent of the original. This is not a photocopy - we can preserve image clarity and depth of detail not possible with other methods of reproduction. Where possible, the reproduction exceeds the image quality of our original catalog.
This reproduction catalog is meant to be a permanent reference. Its true spiral binding, unlike a comb binding, allows this book to remain unharmed when left open at the desired place. The front and back covers are printed on heavy marbled cover stock, protected by sturdy clear vinyl outer covers.
Our fine reproductions are already in some museum research libraries.
