Available for purchase is this spectacular, super rare set salvaged from a historic home in Winston/Salem, NC. The set is authentic (not reproduction) and was made by “Norwich” during the 1870’s. Included are 2 bronze knobs, 2 bronze rosettes, 2 bronze keyhole escutcheons with swinging keyhole covers, 1 iron lock with bronze faceplate, 1 working key, and 1 spindle with 2 setscrews. All bronze parts are solid, heavy, cast bronze—not stamped or plated iron.

The Greek Revival movement dominated the 1870’s and this set is a fine example of that period. All bronze parts are highly decorated with exquisite Neo-grec details.

The only other quality even close to matching the set’s beauty is its remarkable condition! You could tell it had been well maintained over the years. All we had to do was polish the bronze a bit and clean the inside of the lock. All parts are fully intact with no breaks, cracks, dents, etc. The swinging keyhole covers swing easily and the lock operates smoothly.
