YOU ARE LOOKING AT :- A beautifull original pressed milk glass chicken. Sitting on a frilled top basket, with some of its original paint, these are normally used for storing eggs in the pantry. Manufacturer = Vallerysthal. This company was founded in 1836 and then became Klenglin et ce, In 1854 they made decorated glass, Opaline, Cameo and art glass. In the 19th century the company excelled in their pressed glass animal dishes. The company is still operating today. Measurements = Height 13.5cm - Length 17.5.cm - Width 14.cm - Weight 526.gms. Damage = There is a small chip in the frill edge (can be seen in the photo just by the chickens head), and obviously the paintwork is very worn I feel this all adds to its charm. I am a glass collector and have been collecting for 40 years, I am now in my 70's and feel it is time to relenquish some of my 2,000 pieces glass collection, because my wife and children keep threatening to take me and my glass up to our local recycle centre !!. Thank you for taking the time to look at my site. Please look out for other items from my collection now being offered on eBay. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR POSTAGE COSTS BEFORE BIDDING.
