I have acquired a box of prints which seem almost entirely to have originated as Prints from Encyclopaedias or Illustrated dictionaries. They are from the date stated and not later reprints. They are blank on the reverse, all on good quality paperunless otherwise mentioned. I have tried to keep them together in lots depicting the various subjects -
A SET OF 2 finely detailed 1868 c prints from Wood or steel engraving entitled :-
'GAS METER '
Number 1 shows :-
2 views of parts of the Gas meter
(research confirms that the meter shown (though not named on the print) is the Crosley and Goldsmith wet meter)
Number 2 shows :-
A further 2 views of parts of the same Gas meter
The scans are of previous prints I have had, and the ones here are CLEANER and more neatly TRIMMED - I have just used older scans to save time
Each print measures overall 230 x 145 mm (9 x 5.75 ") approx.
CONDITION
It is on good quality paper with a blank reverse, and in good condition (unless otherwise mentioned in the main body of this description) with a little fading around the edges of borders not affecting the print.
Sometimes there are binding holes and witness marks which will be visible in the scan - if in doubt please ask for a jpeg to view closer
