1857. Francis Napier/ British Diplomat/ Madras Governor
1857.
A letter written by (the 10th ) Lord Francis Napier to Dr. James Wynne, while Minister to the US, dated Nov. 26, 1857.
Clearly signed at the bottom Napier.
Francis Napier, 10th Lord Napier (1819-1898), Scottish diplomat and colonial administrator.
Lord Napier served as Minister to the United States from 1857 to 1859, Ambassador to Russia from 1861 to 1864, Governor of Madras from 1866 to 1872, and Acting Viceroy of India for a short time in 1872.
