Donald Grant Mitchell 1822 -1908, best known under the pseudonym of "Ik Marvel" was an American essayist and novelist, author of the sentimental essays contained in these two volumes, Reveries Of A Bachelor, first published in 1850 and Dream Life in 1851.

These are two English editions, bound together in one, each with its own title page and page numbering, the first is an undated circa 1855 edition, the second is dated 1853.

Handwritten inscription on endpaper stating: Authors real name Donald Grant Mitchell born in Norwich U.S.A  graduated at Yale College 1841.

Condition
Original marbled boards, respined in leather with gilt lettered title, new endpapers, slight foxing to a few pages, all complete.

Size is 6½ by 4¼ inches
