DETAILS

An illustrated book on Chester, Derby, Leicester, Lincoln and Rutland.

Bound in cloth with blindstamped boards and gilt lettering.

Thomas Allom (18041872) was an English artist, topographical illustrator and architect, and one of the founder members of what eventually became the Royal Institute of British Architects.

Priced as a reading copy due to damage. Would command up to £400 in good order.

CONDITION

The binding is firm. There is significant wear to the extremities, including bumping, some stains and loss to the cloth on the spine. Internally the pages are slightly browned with spotting throughout. Seven of the illustrations have been cut out, as can be seen in the photographs above. Overall the condition is good only.
