Pair of Berkshire Entire Letters - 1835 from FRANCIS CROWDY at ILSLEY with good readable content regarding a farm of the Rev. G P BUXTON of 112 acres, reckoning £120 a year rental if good title be produced - his father had bought a farm in 1807 and the then old lady was still living in 1835! - the perils of not gaining possession quickly! The Letter is charged 6d to JOHN WOODMAN in MARLBOROUGH and shows a good framed Newbury/Penny Post on Reverse which will open nicely to display. Offered with 1841 Letter from ALFRED CONYERS with mention of a man 'CURR' and 2 men coming after him with a warrant to take him into custody, this one has NEWBURY postmark with mileage removed at base of arcs. Useful BERKSHIRE postal history as well as social history to research.
