Silvio Pellico 1789-1854, Italian dramatic poet, author and patriot. Imprisoned by the Austrians as a Carbonarist, he wrote this candid and moving account of his prison life. The first edition of this work was published in Turin in 1832.

All complete with an engraved frontispiece portrait of Pellico and a total of 442 pages.

Contemporary hand written label on fixed front endpaper F.L. Baldwin.

CONDITION
Original half leather binding, leather has some wear, pages have some foxing.
