These travels written by Joseph Sansom c1765-1826 are described in the form of 32 letters.
The preface states:
The following letters from Europe begin at Paris. It was the authors original intention to have given his countrymen an opportunity of beholding the rival empires of France and England, as they appear to an American eye: but conceiving that his principles would  be canvassed with suspicion, by the wakeful prejudices of party, he now offers to the public that  part only of his European tour to which political objections cannot so rapidly apply.

These letters include good descriptions of what he saw, and the history of some of the places visited.
280 pages in total all complete.

CONDITION
Recently rebound in green cloth, new endpapers, foxing to some pages, unobtrusive damp stain to last 5 leaves.
