Offered for sale is this super, Victorian, 1800's, plaited mourning hair expandable bracelet, set with an enamelled centre piece. A charming piece of memorial jewellery.
As mentioned above the bracelet expands when stretched. So hard to give a measurement, however the bracelet does seem on the smaller side. Enamelled panel measures 7/8 of an inch by 7/8 of an inch approx. Unusual plaited design.
This is just one of several items of fine antique mourning hair jewellery, being listed this week. They came from a small collection of similar jewelley.
Condition is very good, hairwork appears in good order, some very minor wear to the hair at one side where it goes into the panel. Some wear to the gilt metal plating to the underside of the panel. Very Minor surface scratches marks to the enamel panel.
