Offered for sale is this charming, Victorian, 1800's, plaited mourning hair expandable, childs bracelet, set with an gilt metal hinged panel, inset with turquoise. A charming piece of memorial jewellery.
As mentioned above the bracelet expands when stretched. So hard to give a measurement, however the bracelet does seem on the smaller side. Perhaps for a child or young girl.
This is just one of several items of fine antique mourning hair jewellery, being listed this week. They came from a small collection of similar jewelley.
Condition is good, hairwork appears in good order, some very minor wear to the hair where it goes into the panel. Some wear to the gilt metal plating, would benefit from more cleaning in places. There appears to have been a safety chain loop to one side of the panel, which is not present now, just a rough edge. Minor nics to the odd turquoise stone.
