Firstly... to really appreciate the item you need to ENLARGE the images...left mouse click ...some taken with the camera will enlarge..... some are taken with & without flash.

A MUSEUM quality antique fine comb for head lice... maybe not the sort of thing you would like to think about but this is a VERY RARE comb.

It is in great condition too.... I'm told its made from Boxwood and probably French in origin....yopu collectors will probably know what your looking at anyway.

The comb is well carved with a pierced - fretted design and has Sycamore like seeds on it... in the centre as well as the ends.

The teeth are very fine and are in remarkable condition for its age... quite often these are found all broken...there are a couple with the very ENDS just broken off..its DELICATE  though I can tell you ..it really has done well to survive.

The comb is 8cm x 7.5cm x 5mm at the central deep part...it weighs approx.......17.3grams.
