17^th Century Period Country Oak Six Plank Coffer

This beautiful small antique 17^th Century country oak six plank coffer has a lift up lid, moulded front, stands on raised sides and has an old repair where the lock would have been. The piece is a medium / dark oak colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

Items of this age and quality are becoming very rare to find and they are not just a beautiful piece of furniture but also a very good investment. A piece of furniture of this quality should sell for around £800. In a London antique shop it would have a price tag of well over £1000.
