 DESCRIPTION........................................

An original 1787 print from copper plate engraving entitled

' A Gateway Called King Johns Castle, Oldford Essex - Published July 9 1787 by S Hooper - J Newton '.

The print bears the indent markings on the borders from the copper plate printing process and is a feature of prints of this time. The engraved area measures 150 x 100 mm ( 6 x 4 " ) approx. plus titled borders. I t is in good condition with a blank reverse. There is a little age yellowing and only a few spots of foxing which is a feature of prints of great age.
