Description

This is an unusual silver item made from 2 silver coins from Austria .. these are called Thalers ... the dates are 1780...having said that these coins could well be later re-strikes as it is a common occorence with these coins... although they could be from 1780.. im not sure.

Anyway the coins have been adapted into  small Photo Frame idea.. or a thin slender box.. this is a common practice in the Georgian - Victorian eras... very well made by lathing out one side and soldering on a hinge and 4 little knobbles for the feet. It also has a small push catch on the inside which keeps it together.

Looking at the frame you will see that both coins used are in lovely condition ..and it has been very well made..

It is 4cm dia x nearly 6mm wide ...opening it out to stand up its about 7cm long..and the lathed out parts are 31mm dia..
