1777 INDENTURE of DEBT by ADAMS
of BILTON BARNS - NORTHUMBERLAND

DATE:- 7th JUNE 1777

THIS IS AN ORIGINAL INDENTURE, ENTIRELY HANDWRITTEN ON 4 SIDES OF STRONG PAPER, AND IT IS BETWEEN
EDWARD ADAMS of BILTON BARNS, NORTHUMBERLAND of the first part,
ROBERT ADAMS of LONGHOUGHTON, RICHARD ROBSON of FIELDHOUSE and GEORGE TATE of HARTLAW of the second part - and
"the several persons whose names are mentioned in the Schedule hereinafter written..."
of the third part.

It seems that Edward Adams owes money to all the people named in the schedule but cannot pay and has therefore agreed to transfer all his crops, stock, farm implements and property to Adams, Robson and Tate as trustees for his creditors who are detailed in the Schedule on the final page.

NOTE: Added to the filing notes is the very personal comment "I am imprudently a very great Sufferer by Edward Adams of Bilton Barns. J.A."

THERE ARE 2 IMPRESSED REVENUE STAMPS, A PAPER DUTY STAMP AND ONE PAPERED SEAL.

Size. The document is approx. 16" wide x 13" high, folded in half to give 4 pages..
Condition. Some small cracks on folds but generally in very good condition with the usual folding creases.

Payment. I am happy to accept personal cheques in sterling, euros or US dollars but will wait for them to clear before posting goods. Paypal also accepted but only in sterling.

Shipping. In addition to bid price, the buyer will also pay £2 uninsured postage and packing to the UK and £4 to other destinations.
