This is a devotional work first published in1658, in which man's duties in respect of God and his fellow men are analysed and discussed in detail.
Although written anonymously this is the work of a practised divine, probably Richard Allestree or Allestry 1619-1681, Royalist churchman, Chaplain in Ordinary to the King, and Provost of Eton College from 1665.

478 Pages in total with 2 title pages and an extra engraved title page for the first part with a frontispiece plate.

Condition
18th Century full leather binding, worn with cracks down hinges, slight foxing to a few pages, lacking 1 leaf of booksellers advertisements at the end of the book and the rear blank endpaper, otherwise all complete.
