Mathew Prior 1644-1721. Poet and diplomat is buried in poets corner in Westminster Abbey.

This is the first English Latin translation of prior's separately published poem.
 Solomon was first published in 1718 in his collected poems, his "Poems On Several Occasions".

The translation by William Dobson consists of Latin and English text on facing pages,  71 pages in total, plus title page and 2 page dedication.

CONDITION
Three quarter leather with decorative boards, new endpapers, pages have some browning and slight foxing, pages trimmed close on margins.
Size is 8¾ by 7 inches
