The rare first English translation of Synopsis Algebraica first published in Latin in 1693 by Joannes Alexander. This work of 191 pages is followed by a 128 page Appendix by Humphrey Ditton 1675-1715, master of the mathematical school in Christ's Hospital , London. The dedication page states that the publication of this work was paid for by the hospital.
